Hagstrom 1

hagstrom1.jpg

Made in Alvdalen, Sweden, this Hagstrom 1 is almost mint and plays and sounds like a new guitar. Dating from about 1963, according to its serial number, these guitars were fitted with a very fast neck and the scratchplate and the top were moulded in plastic in one piece and then screwed onto the body w1hile the back and sides were covered in vinyl. Hagstrom started out in the 1920’s building accordions and did not begin making guitars until the late 1950’s. Sometimes, Hagstrom used other names for the export market e.g. Kent, Goya, and Futurama.
